Inflation has set another record, Forbes reports. According to Hungary's Central Statistical Office, inflation in January was 25.7%!!

For a long time—almost years—we have heard nothing but that our money is deteriorating. This means we can afford less and less from our earnings and our standard of living declines even if our income rises slightly.

The latest record does not only make everyday life harder; it also affects our savings. At this level of inflation, we can lose hundreds of thousands or even several million forints a year.

We will not notice money disappearing from our account, because it does not. The problem is that rising prices mean what we saved buys less and less.
