A pension catastrophe in 15 years?

Yesterday I read a Forbes article in which an expert says that the state will need to make serious changes over the next 15 years to avoid a pension catastrophe.

It has long been common knowledge that our generation will not receive a meaningful pension. A pension is always money that current workers pay to those who no longer work. The situation is that fewer and fewer workers would have to support more and more pensioners. Clearly, that cannot work forever—and we have not even mentioned how much money loses value over decades or what the payment will be worth, if we receive one at all.

I have always been the type who does what can be done instead of waiting for someone else to solve the problem, and I encourage everyone to do the same.

Think ahead and prepare; do not simply hope that somebody will take care of you.
