Your salary is worth tens of thousands less!
Today I read an article about rising inflation. According to the latest figures, price growth will reach 20% in the autumn and exceed 30% for food.
Do you know what that means? If you previously earned 300,000 forints, it is as if your salary had been cut to 240,000. Sixty thousand disappeared because everything became more expensive and your money's purchasing power fell. I previously made a video about purchasing power and nominal value; watch it if you have not seen it.
And what about our savings?
The same thing happens to your savings. If you had 10 million forints at the beginning of the year, at this level of inflation it will buy only 8 million forints' worth by year-end. You have lost 2 million from your savings—and it continues year after year.
That is precisely why we use gold: it preserves purchasing power. If you store one month's salary in gold today, it will still cover one month's living expenses ten years from now.
Inflation makes your savings worth less every day. It may be time to find something that holds its value. If you ask me, there are three enduring assets in the world: land, property, and gold. I made a video about this too.
