Is it better to buy gold in smaller or larger units?
It is important to know that smaller units cost more in gold trading, while larger ones cost less. Smaller units have the advantage that you can access and sell them gradually if something sudden happens. If you own one large bar, however, it can only be sold back as a whole.
Nevertheless, my view is that you should not split your purchase into pieces that are too small. Small units carry a low-quantity premium, and in Hungary a one-gram bar is also subject to VAT.
If you want to buy gradually, we have a much better solution than many one-time exchanges: our piggy-bank arrangement lets you accumulate gold from even the smallest amount without a low-quantity premium.
You can buy from us in the following units: 2 g, 5 g, 10 g, 20 g, 31.1 g (one ounce), 50 g, 100 g, 250 g, 500 g, 1 kg
Of course, the large gold bars seen in heist films also exist 😃. They weigh 400 ounces, or 12.5 kilograms.
